Kakigori is Shave Ice

The history of Hawaiian shave ice traces back to Japan when plantation workers immigrated to the Hawaiian islands and brought their traditional dessert with them. Creating shave ice from large blocks of ice is still practiced today here in Maui and one of the favorite shops to get it at is here. Our tip is to try Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice’s “No Ka Oi” shave ice, which is coconut, mango, and lilikoi. Get ready to enjoy a local tradition!
